Graduate School

I’m a graduate student in the University of Washington’s Master of Communication in Digital Media program.

MCDM focuses on digital storytelling, social media, content strategy and personal branding, and the business side of digital communications technologies (such as marketing and metrics). It’s the best place I can think of to investigate how the publishing industry (and writers in general) can evolve in the digital era.

Here’s a short documentary I made in the program that tells the story of Portland, OR’s Independent Publishing Resource Center, a nonprofit devoted to independent publishing:

The IPRC: What are you making? from C. Lowry on Vimeo.

Other projects:

Research paper: The future of tablet computing
Research brief: Twitter and content curation
Presentation: Improving site design with signal detection theory
Web site: Assessing content farm copyright agreements
